In 1995 Paul Ollswang and I were searching for a cartoon story structure that embodied our discussions of revolution and reform. We hit upon an activist-buddy-adventure, with me, as the enthusiastic anarchist dog 'Fydor', and Paul, as the more cynical socialist dog 'Rube' -- who argued abut the lessons of the past by actually traveling to the past. This was made possible by an underground "grassroots network" that was beyond time and space. -- Greg Bryant
